This issue might occur if the driver for the fingerprint scanner is corrupt. Also, you will need to install the HP simple pass software after installing the finger print driver.

I would suggest you to run hardware & devices troubleshooter.

  1. Press “Windows key + X” and type “troubleshooting”.
  2. Select “Troubleshooting”.
  3. Select “View all” on the top left corner.
  4. Click “Hardware & devices”
  5. Follow the on-screen instruction to run the troubleshooter.
